Did it go well? Our Nurturing Mums weigh in…

mums meet up

We were so pleased with how our first postnatal group ran, but more importantly so were the mums! We discussed what the course meant to them and how it impacted their early days of motherhood.  Some of the main reasons for the success of the group were:

  • They found it useful to know other mums were going through what they were! Sometimes it can feel as if you are the only one struggling, the only one with a baby not sleeping, the only one whose little one won’t open their mouth for solids – not true!
  • Loved having structure to the week, they found themselves looking forward to Tuesday mornings.
  • A lot of baby groups focus on the babies, and they were really pleased that Nurturing Mums focusses on mums (which in turn allowed them to focus on their babies).  They are now ready to start singing, drama, swimming, and all sorts of other baby-related activities.
  • They made new friends, which was lovely for this group with one Kiwi, one mum from South London, one younger mum and another local mum. They are even talking about meeting up every Tuesday once the group finishes!
  • They loved the sessions on sleep and intro to weaning and found the information really useful.  They each loved their professional photo of them and their baby and had a great, relaxing time at the Pamper session.  Success!
